The many ways you can help us by volunteering your time

You can also help us by donating of your time and expertise to Hope on a String.  Some of the ways that you can help us are:

• Spread the word.  The more people who know Hope on a String the better.  As a fledgling organization, we need all of your support to help us in this first year.  Every connection is valuable to us.  So send your friends an email with a link to our website: www.hopeonastring.org or be our fan on Facebook and recommend our organization to your friends.

• Conduct an instrument drive in your area.  It's much easier for us to coordinate the transport of instruments when they are centralized in one area.  Start and instrument drive and collect a list of instruments that people are willing to donate.  Then contact us and we'll work with you to collect instruments.

• Give of your expertise.  For both our Music Engagement Program and the Resource Center, we'll be constantly on the look out for additional help.  Did you used to play guitar in a band?  Or are you a retired specialist in an area that might be helpful to our community, such as aquaculture or sanitation or sustainable agriculture?  Are you well-versed in accounting or program evaluation?  Perhaps you could help us with some of our critical administrative function.  Let us know by contacting us.  We'll keep in mind your interest in donating your time.  You could come and visit in Haiti or make a video for viewing at our center or you could directly answer questions for our community or staff.  We want to make the world a smaller place by connecting resources from around the world.  Let us know what you'd like to learn from our community in Haiti as well!
